  72. game, click the Help menu, and then click Monster Manual.

  76. (2) Q. How can I make the game run faster?
  77.  
  78. A.  The level of detail displayed in the graphics has a significant
  79. impact on how fast the game runs. Experiment with turning Graphics
  80. options (Graphics command on the Options menu) on and off to find
  81. the right combination of graphics and speed. For example, set Image
  82. Quality to Low (Faster), turn off the Textured Sky, Shadows, and
  83. Allow Damage options. You can also try setting Scenery to Sparse
  84. (Faster). Turning off the dashboard and steering wheel in cockpit
  85. view can also make the game run faster.

  87. Reducing the number of computer trucks you're racing against
  88. may also make the game run faster. To reduce the number of
  89. computer opponents, click Game on the Options menu, and then,
  90. under Computer Opponents, click the arrows to reduce the number
  91. of default computer opponents. Then click OK.

  95. (3) Q. Can I use tracks from and created for Monster Truck
  96.        Madness Version 1 with this new version of the game?

  98. A. Yes, you can race the tracks featured in and created for 
  99. Monster Truck Madness Version 1 with this new version of the game.

  106. (4) Q. How do I turn off Army Armstrong commentary? 
  107.  
  108. A. If you find the pressure of a master commentator too much to
  109. handle, you can silence Army Armstrong at any time, in both his
  110. verbal and text-based forms. To turn off Army Armstrong
  111. commentary, follow the steps below:
  112.  
  113. (1) On the Options menu, click Game.
  114. (2) Under Commentary, clear the Show Commentary and Hear
  115.     Commentary check boxes.
  116. (3) Click OK to close the dialog box.

  120. (5) Q. How do I turn off the music that plays when I'm not 
  121.        actually racing?

  123. A. To turn off the music that plays when you're not racing, follow
  124. the steps below:

  126. (1) On the Options menu, click Sound.
  127. (2) Under Options, clear the Play Prerace Music check box.
  128. (3) Click OK to close the dialog box.

  132. (6) Q. How do I hook up my steering wheel and pedals to work
  133.        correctly with Monster Truck Madness 2?

  136. race car controllers for use with Monster Truck Madness 2, see the
  137. "Configuring Your Race Car Controller" section of Monster Manual
  138. (Help menu in Monster Truck Madness 2), or the "Controller
  139. Configuration Notes and Troubleshooting" section of README.txt
  140. (included in the folder where you installed Monster Truck Madness 2).
  141. These sections include topics on installing the following types of
  142. controllers: ThrustMaster NASCAR (R) Pro Racing Wheel (outside U.S.,
  143. ThrustMaster Formula One Racing Wheel), ThrustMaster Formula T1
  144. and T2, ThrustMaster Grand Prix 1, and CH Products Pro.

  148. (7) Q. When switching views while driving, what's the fastest way
  149.        to switch back to cockpit view for my car?

  151. A. Press CTRL+1 to return to cockpit view from any game view.
  152. (You can change views while driving by pressing V; you can
  153. also jump into your opponents' trucks while they're driving
  154. by pressing K.)

  158. (8) Q. Is there anything I can do to make my joystick (or
  159.        steering wheel) feel a little less twitchy?
  160.  
  161. A. Yes. Adjusting the Null Zone setting for your joystick or
  162. steering wheel may help make your driving experience a little
  163. less twitchy. To increase the Null Zone setting and reduce the
  164. twitchiness, click Controls on the Options menu, confirm that
  165. the controller you want to adjust is selected under Primary
  166. Driving Control, and then click Customize Controller. Drag the
  167. Null Zone slider control to the right to increase the Null Zone
  168. setting. You may have to experiment to find the perfect setting
  169. for your driving style.

  173. (9) Q. Can I adjust the amount of force I can feel with my force
  174.        feedback controller?
  175.  
  176. A. Yes. By adjusting the Crash Force setting,
  177. you can tweak the feel and response of your force feedback
  178. controller. To adjust the setting, click Controls on the Options
  179. menu, and then click Customize Controller. Confirm that the Use
  180. Force Feedback check box and the appropriate controller type
  181. (joystick or steering wheel) is selected, and then drag the Crash
  182. Force slider control to adjust the amount of force you can feel
  183. with your force feedback controller. You may have to experiment to
  184. find the perfect setting for your force feedback style.

  188. (10) Q. How can I adjust the volume of the music in the game?

  190. A. Use the Windows Volume Control to set your audio level, 
  191. and keep in mind that you can insert and play music from any
  192. audio CD while you are playing Monster Truck Madness 2 (works best
  193. if you chose the Complete option when you installed the game;
  194. otherwise, you may have to swap CDs in the drive.)

  200. A. Type FRAME while you are driving. The frame rate calculation
  201. appears in the lower right corner of the screen. To turn it off,
  202. type FRAME again.

  207.         computers for multiplayer racing?

  209. A. If your computer is connected to a LAN (Local Area Network) or
  210. the Internet, or if you have a modem, it's easy to start a
  211. multiplayer session and get racing against human opponents.
  212. Monster Truck Madness 2 even helps you find players who are
  213. ready to play when you are.

  228.  (13) Q. The trucks in Monster Truck Madness 2 seem to have more
  229.          grip than I expected. Is there anything I can do to
  230.          decrease the amount of grip when I'm driving?
  231.  
  232. A. Yes, there are several things you can do to decrease the amount
  233. of grip you get with your truck.
  234.  
  235. First, the amount of grip your truck displays depends on the skill
  236. level you're using. If you're driving as a rookie, you get plenty
  237. of grip. Things get slippier if you're driving at the
  238. intermediate or professional levels. If you think you've got too
  239. much grip, try racing as an intermediate or professional.
  240.  
  241. If you really want to "lose your grip," go to the Garage and
  242. choose the Shallow Cut tire option, and then head out on the
  243. track for a race with the Snow weather option selected (Races
  244. screen).
